The lotus flower represents, strength, resilience in the face of adversity, rebirth, and transcendence. The lotus flower roots itself in the ground and slowly grows up from the watery depths. Though it rises through the mud, the blooms are unscathed. Remember this as you go through the ritual.

While holding the soap, Close your eyes in the shower/bath and envision a lotus in the center of your chest. Place the soap over the area where you envision the lotus and notice as a soft pink glow begins to emanate from your hands. It radiates outwards until you are enveloped in this gentle, loving, nurturing energy.

Begin to notice any areas of your body where you are holding tension…. Your neck… your shoulders…relax your belly with a big inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth… feel your feet firmly underneath you.

repeat the following mantra aloud or in your head until you feel sufficiently grounded

ganga maa, just as your waters always return to their source,

may all my power be restored to me

may any energy i have unduly placed within people, places,

institutions, and systems of oppression find its way back to me

may my power flow back to me with

the ease of sweet water over rocks

may it wash over me like a cleansing rain

i command my power back to myself, in your name

jai maa shakti jai maa shakti jai maa shakti
